Screening of tomato hybrids for resistance to Fusarium wilt
نویسندگان
چکیده
Few commercial genotypes of tomato are resistant to Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici [FOL]), especially race 3. We developed five intraspecific hybrids Solanum lycopersicum (FOX1 FOX5) and assessed them for agronomic traits resistance FOL races 1, 2, 3, a mixture these races. FOX1 FOX4 were all the but did not have desired traits. Next, as rootstocks cherry Sweet Heaven. The grafting Heaven on reduce growth, gas exchange, yield, or fruit quality. When was used rootstock, fruits exhibited reduction in firmness, pulp pH, total soluble solids by 14.3%, 1.2%, 6.75%, respectively. Thus, hybrid can be rootstock manage wilt.

Integrated management strategies for tomato Fusarium wilt.
Fusarium wilt is caused by the fungal pathogens, Fusarium oxysporum or Fusarium solani. It is a devastating disease that affects many important food and vegetable crops and a major source of loss to farmers worldwide. Initial strategies developed to combat this devastating plant disease include the use of cultural, physical and chemical control. None of these strategies have been able to give t...
متن کاملScreening some Iranian Muskmelon Landraces for Resistance Against Fusarium Wilt Disease using Molecular Markers
Fusarium wilt is one of the most destructive diseases of muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.), which is an economically important disease worldwide causes yield losses in muskmelon growing areas. One of the most effective controlling measures to prevent Fusarium wilt is through host resistance by using resistance genes. We used developed molecular markers for Fom-2 gene, which confers ...
متن کاملPhenotypic and Molecular Screening of Tomato Germplasm for Resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus
Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is a major tomato virus in tropical and subtropical regions. In this study, 134 accessions of Solanum lycopersicum and six accessions of Solanum peruvianum were assessed for resistance to an Iranian isolate of TYLCV. Plants were inoculated using whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci) and the reaction of plants was evaluated based on either disease symptoms or viral DN...
متن کاملCharacterization of Flax Germplasm for Resistance to Fusarium Wilt
Fusarium wilt of flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lini (Fol) is an economically important disease that can result in severe yield losses. Due to the pathogen’s ability to survive in soil for long periods, it is essential to identify fusarium wilt resistant flax varieties. The objectives of the study were to phenotype and compare a recombinant inbred line (RIL) p...
متن کاملTomato Genome-Wide Transcriptional Responses to Fusarium Wilt and Tomato Mosaic Virus
Since gene expression approaches constitute a starting point for investigating plant-pathogen systems, we performed a transcriptional analysis to identify a set of genes of interest in tomato plants infected with F. oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (Fol) and Tomato Mosaic Virus (ToMV). Differentially expressed tomato genes upon inoculation with Fol and ToMV were identified at two days post-inoculat...
